Super Easy “72 hour kit” Meals

Pantry Meal

You can’t go wrong having a few ultra convenient meals on hand.  Even easier than a pantry meal, these ideas would be especially nice to add to a 72 hour kit.   Now of course, you can create your own convenience (the purpose of homemade pantry meals), but sometimes it’s nice to have a few other options as well.  Sharing these with you to help spur a few ideas.  Leave me a comment if you’ve found any other products you’d like to share about!

Harvest Creek canned pulled pork.

Dehydrated hashbrowns or mashed potatoes.  (I purchase mine in bulk at Cash n Carry warehouse stores.)

Saffron Road Coconut Curry (found at Costco).  Both rice and curry are ready to eat and just need to be reheated.  Pouches can be reheated by immersing in hot water.

Hormel Compleats.  Our boys have taken these meals to scout camp with them for years and they’ve loved them.

Rice – ready to go.  Yes, you can make your own rice, but under certain circumstances I’d imagine it would be useful to have it already cooked.

Just add water meals.  These are just a few I’ve found by Dr. McDougall’s.

Breakfast oatmeal cups.  Delicious and so easy!

  1. We take several of these products on road trips so we don’t need to eat in a restaurant after we stop in the evening. I make sure the hotel has a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Add fruit cups for a complete meal.
